Springtime Uses for WD-40 Multi-Use Product

    Thursday, April 26, 2012, 4:00 PM [General]

It’s Time for Spring Cleaning… Hooray!

WD-40® Multi-Use Product is so versatile, it can help around bathrooms, kitchens, tool sheds, garages and just about every room in the house.  Stop by your local retailer, pick up a can, and use it to shine your stainless steel appliances and to prevent build-up of soap scum, water spots and grime.

    Rain, Rain Go Away

April showers bring May flowers, but they can also take quite a toll on tools left outside.  WD-40 Multi-Use Product can help protect and drive moisture from things left out in the rain.  Use it to drive moisture from gardening tools, lubricate hinges on pruning shears, prevent rust on outdoor latches and to keep your wheelbarrow wheels turning smoothly.

    Enjoy the Great Outdoors

As days get longer and the weather warms up, it’s time to get outside.  It may have been months since you last used your bike, but biking is a great way to enjoy nature and get a workout at the same time.  Before you hit the road, make sure your bike is in tip-top shape so you’ll have a safe, smooth ride.  Pick up a can of WD-40 Multi-Use Product and use it to lubricate locks on bike racks, help remove caked on debris from chains and pulleys, displace moisture from components and protect your bike’s metal parts from rust and corrosion.

Weekend Warriors: How to Man Up Your Thanksgiving Holiday

    Friday, November 18, 2011, 2:30 PM [General]

Everything about Thanksgiving is fit to make it the perfect man’s holiday. From the day full of prime time sports to the carving of the turkey, everywhere you turn there’s something to make a male rejoice. The real trick is making sure that the family feeling is retained alongside of the manly matters. After all, holidays are about coming together and so to think about the day selfishly goes against the spirit of the event. A perfect solution is to plan some activities that get everyone involved. This way you can make sure that you man up your Thanksgiving while including the whole family, and we’ve already brainstormed a few kick butt ideas to get your Turkey Day ready to go.

Deep Fry That Bird. Yea, yea. It’s not low carb or fat free. In fact, deep frying an entire turkey probably goes against every guideline in every diet book since the invention of the printing press itself. But c’mon, it’s Thanksgiving, and if we don’t just admit that we are going to eat ourselves sick, take a nap, and wake up for a double serving of dessert then we’re really just lying to ourselves. For the sake of all that’s awesome and manly, let’s take this one day and just go against conventional wisdom with a real winter man-style meal: golden crispy turkey. Watch a detailed how-to from the BBQ Pit Boys® on YouTube.

Pigskin pregame. There is really no separating Thanksgiving and football. The NFL season is in full swing, the annual Holiday games are on TV, heck even the turkey is brown and leathery like the pigskin itself. Even though most of the day is justifiably spent relaxing, eating, and watching professional athletes tire themselves out, a game of casual backyard football is a great thing to add to your family arsenal. Not only does it get the kids and most of the guys in the family involved, but in a game of two-hand touch there’s nothing to say that the ladies shouldn’t get out there and play as well. A lot of times it’s even the girls who go out there and throw better spirals than their husbands. Burn.

Sneaking some Zzz’s. Whether we like to admit it or not, we’re all getting older, and the older we get the more we find ourselves tempted to take a little nap when we’re full and relaxed. In order to avoid getting flack from your kids or anyone else at the house, make sure you have a good story ahead of time so you can sneak in a bit of shut-eye for at least a half hour during the day. Maybe you have a little “work” you need to get done after the football game is over. In any case, when you wake up refreshed and ready to go the whole party will be better for it. And plus, it’s your day off. You know you deserve it.

Thank you in advance. Giving honest thanks is undoubtedly an important part of Thanksgiving. There aren’t too many times when you gather around with the family and get to take a day just to appreciate what you have, so we’d never say that appreciating the moment is not worthwhile. It is true, though, that the thank you’s before the meal can get a little long winded, and no matter how important it is to reflect on our blessings, no one needs to sit through a half hour speech. To avoid this, try suggesting you give a general blessing before the meal begins that you’ve already written ahead, and then towards the end of the meal each person can give their individual thanks. Warm food tastes much better and everyone finds it easier to be thankful with a full belly.

Tip: Use WD-40® Multi-Use Product to clean scuff marks from chairs off the floors once the guests depart. Wash well afterwards with soap and water. We don’t want anyone to fall now, do we?

    Recovering from the Storm

    Wednesday, August 24, 2011, 1:40 PM [General]

As many recover from the impact of Hurricane Irene, our thoughts go out to the families affected and those helping with recovery efforts.  Whether it’s cleaning up debris, dealing with flood damage, recovering from stress or injury, or repairing damage to your home, getting your life back in order can certainly be trying.

WD-40® Multi-Use Product is not the answer to all of your problems, but it can help with a few things … Here are some hints from other fans about how you can use the product during storm recovery efforts:

    • Drive moisture out of engines, wet ignition systems, spark plugs and distributors
    • Help remove floodwater marks from paneling and metal surfaces
    • Displace moisture from electrical parts, sockets and lamps – helping to eliminate shorting and current leakage
    • Help remove rust and grime from metal tools and surfaces exposed to rain or floodwater

Note:  Prior to saturating flooded equipment with WD-40 Multi-Use Product, remember to unplug from electrical power sources and flush out all dirt and debris with fresh water.  Make sure to allow a reasonable amount of time before restoring power.

Please be safe and feel free to share these tips with those who may be affected.  Also, check out this article from US Inspect that has some important hurricane recovery tips.
