I sprayed some WD-40 on the ball joint for the outside rearview mirror on my 1973 F-100. It was very hard to adjust. Wow did it ever free it up!!!!! After that, the mirror would not stay put. It cleaned all the rust out, which was holding it in place. The year was 1997 and the mirror has only recently began ro hold in place good. WD did what I wanted and then some. Since then every look in the mirror reminds me of WD, always rolling the window down to adjust the mirror. That is so far my most memorable experience with WD.

I can't think of any "offbeat" ways that I've personally used it. Mostly stuck bolts, squeaky this & that. I've heard some odd ways to use it though.
